01

Terms of Use

By purchasing, handling or using an Infinity Strap, you acknowledge that you have read and understood the product instructions, warnings and limitations contained on this page.

Infinity Strap must only be used in a manner appropriate for an elastic tie-down product and in accordance with the guidance provided by Infinity Strap.

The user is responsible for selecting suitable attachment points, determining whether the product is appropriate for the intended application and ensuring that the load is properly restrained before use or travel.

02

Intended Use

Infinity Strap is designed as an adaptable elastic tie-down for securing, organising and restraining suitable items in everyday applications.

Typical applications may include camping, touring, caravans, trailers, bakkies, recreational equipment, household organisation, garage use and similar general-purpose securing applications.

Important

Infinity Strap is not a substitute for certified cargo restraint equipment where legislation, vehicle regulations or the nature of the load requires a specifically rated restraint system.

General Safety Warnings

  • Not suitable for use by children.
  • Always ensure that the strap, hooks and attachment points are suitable for the item being secured.
  • Keep your face, eyes and body clear of a tensioned strap whenever attaching, adjusting or releasing it.
  • Elastic straps can release suddenly if a hook becomes detached or an attachment point fails.
  • Never use damaged, bent, cracked, excessively worn or corroded hooks.
  • Do not use the strap if the elastic cord is cut, frayed, damaged, degraded or showing signs of excessive wear.
  • Sharp edges can cut or weaken the elastic cord. Protect the strap from direct contact with sharp surfaces.
  • Excessive heat can damage the cord and reduce its performance.
  • Prolonged exposure to sunlight and UV radiation may degrade elastic materials over time.
  • Do not overstretch the Infinity Strap.
  • Ensure all hooks are fully engaged and cannot easily slip from the selected attachment point.
  • Check that the load is stable and secure before travelling or moving the secured item.
04

Load & Strength Information

Infinity Strap is constructed using two parallel 8 mm heavy-duty shock cords.

Published specifications for some comparable 8 mm shock cords indicate break-strength figures of approximately 181 kg (400 lb) per individual cord. These figures relate to cordage specifications and should not automatically be interpreted as the certified breaking strength of the complete assembled Infinity Strap.

The overall strength of any complete tie-down system is affected by multiple components and conditions, including the elastic cord, hooks, crimps, connectors, attachment points, configuration, wear, age, environmental exposure and the manner in which the load is applied.

Product Rating Notice

Unless specifically stated otherwise in formal Infinity Strap test documentation, published cord manufacturer specifications must not be interpreted as independent certification of the complete assembled Infinity Strap.

05

Inspection & Care

Inspect your Infinity Strap before every use.

  • Check the elastic cords for cuts, fraying, flattening, excessive stretching or other visible damage.
  • Check all hooks for bending, cracking, corrosion or deformation.
  • Inspect securing sections, crimps and connection points for movement or damage.
  • Replace the product if you are uncertain about its condition.
  • Store in a dry location away from excessive heat, chemicals, sharp objects and unnecessary UV exposure.
  • Do not attempt to repair, modify, splice or alter damaged components.
06

Prohibited Uses

Infinity Strap is not designed, approved or intended for applications where failure could result in serious injury or loss of life.

  • Do not use for lifting or suspending loads.
  • Do not use for climbing, abseiling or fall protection.
  • Do not use as personal safety equipment.
  • Do not use for towing vehicles or trailers.
  • Do not use for vehicle recovery.
  • Do not use as a life-support or rescue device.
  • Do not use to restrain people or animals.
  • Do not use where a certified lifting sling, ratchet strap, chain or other purpose-rated restraint is required.
07

User Responsibility

It is the responsibility of the user to determine whether Infinity Strap is suitable for a particular application.

The user must ensure that all attachment points are secure, appropriately positioned and capable of supporting the forces created by the tensioned strap.

The user must also ensure that the selected configuration does not create an unsafe angle, place the strap against sharp edges or allow a hook to disengage during movement.

Loads should be checked again after initial movement or travel, as settling or movement of the secured items may reduce tension.

08
